Christmas anthology of novellas available now

Amish Christmas MemoriesHappy Monday, Readers. I’m afraid I’ve been MIA of late due to putting the finishing touches on book 2 of the Secrets of the South mysteries, What Happened on Beale Street. But I’m happy to announce the release of an anthology of Christmas novellas with two friends of mine, Jerry Eicher and Murray Pura. Here’s what the back cover has to say:  Three delightful Christmas Amish novellas are now combined into one charming ebook! Amish Christmas Memories contains heartwarming holiday tales from three beloved authors.

From author Jerry Eicher comes the inspiring novella, Susanna’s Christmas

Wish. Susanna Byler wants to spend the holidays with the man of her dreams. But is that the plain Amishman she married for convenience, or her Englisha first love who recently reappeared in her life?

Sarah’s Christmas Miracle by Mary Ellis will add joy to the Christmas season. As Christmas approaches, Sarah Beachy searches for her brother who left the Order years ago. Sarah’s mother has been missing her son for so long…will she also lose her daughter to the English? Or will this family receive an unexpected miracle?

Murray PuraAuthor Murray Pura brings a tender story of reconciliation in An Amish Family Christmas. Naomi Miller’s friend Rebecca tries to help her recover from tragedy. Then Rebecca’s brother–Naomi’s husband–returns from the military and is shunned. An unexpected turn of events sets things right, bringing this Amish family and their community a truly joyous celebration.

Join Susanna, Sarah, and the Millers in these warm and tender Amish Christmas memories. Available now in all electronic formats, including Sony Reader, Kobo, Nook and Amazon.

Happy New Year and here’s our winner of Amy’s book

Happy New Year, readers, and I hope 2013 is off to a good start for you and yours.

Here’s our winner of Saving Gideon by Amy Lilliard….Johnda Scott! Johnda…you’re the next winner on Home Thoughts of a great piece of Amish fiction. I will be contacting you privately.

I am pleased to announced book three of the New Beginnings series is done and being sent to my editor at Harvest House today! I am tickled pink to get it done on time. A Little Bit of Charm will be released this summer.

Book two of the series, Love Comes to Paradise, has received it’s first editorial review from Romatic Times Magazine. They gave it 4-stars! Here’s the capsule version: The second New Beginnings novel is a sweet, adorable love story with credible characters who want a fresh start and to leave painful memories behind them. They encounter unexpected obstacles and rely on their faith to help them break through those obstacles. Ellis gives the Amish culture the respect it deserves, and her research on the Amish way of life shines in each of her stories. Thanks so much, RT magazine.

And finally, book one of the series, Living in Harmony, is still on sale in e-book version at all e-distributors like christianbook.com, amazon.com, b&n.com and i-Tunes. It’s under 3 bucks but today is the last day if you haven’t read this one yet.  On Monday, I start something fresh which will take me back to my beloved Wayne and Holmes Counties, Ohio. In the meantime, enjoy these fresh first days of a new year.    Mary

Home Thoughts Welcomes Laura Hilton

Good Friday morning, readers! Today before I head on down to Holmes County for a book-signing I wanted to tell you about a great book I finished reading called Promised to Another by Laura Hilton. Laura is a super writer friend who lives in Arkansas and writes Amish Fiction, same as yours truly. Although Promised to Another is book 3 of the Amish of Seymour series, it “stands alone” just fine in case you haven’t read the first two. (book one: Patchwork Dreams, book two: Harvest of Hearts). This is a beautifully written story about a “love triangle”-my personal favorite in romances. I’d rate the book 5-stars! here’s the blurb:

Annie Beiler is an Amish school teacher. She was in love with an Amish man, Luke Stultz, but Luke left the Amish community during his rumspringa, but not without begging Annie to go with him. Now Luke is back, trying to win back Annie’s love. Joshua Esh may be Amish, but he has been bitten by the travel bug. He sees the opportunity to relocate fromPennsylvaniatoMissourias a way to satisfy his longing to see another place yet remain with people of his faith. Josh quickly notices the beautiful Annie, but Annie is slow to respond. With Luke in the picture, and Josh’s admission that he willingly left his district, will either man be steady and dependable enough to win the gift of Annie’s heart?

If you’d like a chance to win a free copy of Promised to Another, Laura has one little question for you to answer. Her hero, Josh, kept a big secret that came back to “bite” him.  Post your answer and you’ll be entered to win a free copy. Drawing will be in one week, Friday May 4th. here’s the question: Have you ever kept a secret from someone and had it come back to “bite” you?

Now I’m off the Good Shepherd bookstore in Berlin, Ohio for a book signing at 11:00. anybody in Amish Country today? stop in and say hello. on Saturday I’ll be at the Carlisle Inn in beautiful Sugar Creek. ahhhh spring in Holmes County…what could be finer?

Dont’ forget to post a comment to be entered to win Laura’s book and happy reading!!

Here’s a photo I took down in Holmes County during an Amish farm sleighride. What fun that was with plenty of hot cocoa and cookies at the end of the ride. Although we haven’t had anywhere near as much snow so far this year as last when this photo was taken. And frankly, that’s okay with this big freeze-baby!!
