Interesting Amish story in the news

Hello Amish Fiction fans. I just read an interesting story in yesterday’s newspaper, The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

A student nurse was instrumental in saving a baby that was inside a runaway Amish buggy. Apparently, the horse took off from the driveway of a house where two Amish ladies had stopped to visit. The women frantically starting chasing the buggy down the street. The nursing student stopped to pick the two ladies up, and they were successful in reining in the runaway house & buggy. The baby and horse were unhurt, thanks be to God.

Another interesting part of this story is the horse stopped at a stop sign, waited for passing traffic, looked both ways and then turned right.  According to the Sheriff’s Dept. the horse probably had gotten confused, so he simply headed for home! And they say horses are dumb animals!
