Mary grew up close to the eastern Ohio Amish community, Geauga County, where her parents often took her to farmer’s markets and woodworking fairs. She loved their peaceful, agrarian lifestyle, their respect for the land, and their strong sense of Christian community. She met her husband in college and they married six days after graduation. She, her husband, dog and cat now live close to the largest population of Amish in the country—a four-county area in central Ohio. They often take weekend trips to purchase produce, research for her best-selling books, and enjoy a simpler way of life. Mary enjoys reading, traveling, gardening, bicycling and swimming. Before “retiring” to write full-time, Mary taught Middle School in Sheffield Lake, Ohio and worked as a sales rep for Hershey Chocolate for twenty years—a job with amazingly sweet fringe benefits. All three of her Miller Family series, A Widow’s Hope, Never Far from Home, and The Way to a Man’s Heart have made the CBA and CBD bestseller lists. A Widow’s Hope was a finalist in the ACFW Carol Awards for 2010 in the long contemporary category, and a runner-up in the 2010 Holt Medallion Awards. Living in Harmony won the 2012 Lime Award for Excellence in Amish Fiction and Love Comes to Harmony has been nominated for this award for 2013.

Thanks Mary for that info. I will surly let you know how it turns out. I just love all of your books. I only have four more to read.
I have been doing my family tree and found out that I have Amish and Mennonites in my family tree. Wonderful people. I hope one day to be able to go to Pennsylvania and Ohio where most of my Ancestors were from and visit the area.
Mary, in your book : “The Way to a Man’s Heart” I noticed you have recipes in the back and I would love to make one of them if not all of them but I have a question. For the Peach Parfait Supreme Pie you said in the last part of the recipe “Top pies over the filling and refrig until chilled”. I was wondering what you mean by TOP PIES OVER THE FILLING???
Linda Joiner
sorry that wasn’t more clear. Think of the pie in 3 layers–the bottom is the crust, and the middle is the pudding and cream cheese filling. The topping is the 3rd layer and covers the filling. by the way, this is the hardest recipe my dear Amish friend ever invented. Good luck with this one. and let me know how it turns out! best regards.
Hey Mary! I’m trying to get in touch with you. I was sent your book, ABIGAIL’S NEW HOPE, to judge for a contest (which I scored highly). Now I would like to use your book for my July book review column I write for christianmagazine.org. I wondered if you had any pics of book cover or yourself you might want to include or author bio or comments. writerpaula@gmail.com
I would love it if you included Abigail in the July book review column. Thanks so much. I will contact you via email and supply what you need. thanks again.
I wrote you reviews of An Amish Family Reunion and posted on Amazon (live already), Christianbook, Family Christian, Barnes & Noble, RT book Reviews, Alibris, Bestsellersworld, Book-Club-Queen, Bookreporter, Christian Review of Books and of course Goodreads. I truly enjoyed it. Now to figure out who God wants to have it.
GOODNESS, Jane, I think you covered just about every book review site out there! thank you so very, very much! those reviews truly help writers alot, so I am in your debt. I hope you had an enjoyable Memorial Day holiday, and are off to a good start of your week. Many blessings on you and yours.
Just finished A Marriage For Megan…is there a 3rd book coming????
THERE might be at some point down the road. But I wrote An Amish Family Reunion after Meghan, and then started on my new series, New Beginnings. The first of the new series releases in July, Living in Harmony. My publisher only wanted a two book Wayne County series…and they are the boss. thanks for dropping by my blog…
Please! Please! We need a 3rd book. I loved the other two and am not ready for it to end. There is just too much story left to tell. I love all your books and I am never ready for them to end.
Thanks so much for taking the time to drop me a reply. Right now, I don’t have a contract for the 3rd book in that series, but who knows what the future will hold! Please look for my new series, New Beginnings. The first is out right now, and it’s called Living in Harmony. The second in the sereis will come out in January. Best regards…always!
